Background

The Human Bax protein is a part of the anti-apoptotic BCL-2 family. This protein can transform from a cytosolic monomer into a dangerous mitochondrial oligomer. The Bax protein activates and transforms into a lethal oligomer that causes mitochondrial outer membrane permeabilization which commits human cells to apoptosis.
