AVPR2, also known as Vasopressin V2 receptor, is a seven-transmembrane-domain G protein-coupled receptor (GPCR) that reacts to arginine vasopressin (AVP) by concentrating urine and maintaining water homeostasis in the organism. The V2 receptor is expressed in the kidney tubule, and also been reported in fetal lung tissue and lung cancer associated with alternative splicing. Within the kidney tubule, expression within the distal convoluted tubule and collecting ducts is most common.
